Transportation
Rize is the capital city of Rize province in the eastern part of the Black Sea Region of Turkey, on the Black Sea coast. Rize is linked by road with Trabzon ( 76 km west), Artvin (159 km southeast), Sarp Border Gate on the Georgian border (109 km east), and Erzurum (251 km south).
Transportation in Rize, which is located in the Eastern Black Sea coastline, is mainly carried out by road transport. There is a road network between Rize and all other cities in Turkey. There is an international airport in Trabzon, which takes only one hour from the main campus on the road. There are many direct flights from this airport to different destinations in Turkey, Europe and Central Asian countries. Compared to western European countries, transportation is highly cheap in Turkey. A return flight from Istanbul to Trabzon Airport costs up to 125 € due to the time of the flight, which takes about one and a half hours.
International students can also benefit from bus services every day between Rize and Georgian towns such as Batumi and Tbilisi.p>
The campus is accessible at any time of the day by bus, taxi or private vehicles from the city and surrounding areas, which takes about ten minutes from the campus to the city center. Student fares are 25% cheaper.
The port of Rize has the most suitable topographic location to develop among Eastern Black Sea ports. It is connected to Trabzon, Hope, Iran by highway lines.
