The Vocational College of Ardeşen had the personal legality for the first time in 24.01.2003 as a part of the Karadeniz Teknik University and became the part of Rize University which is established in 01.03.2006, with the law numbered 5467. With the legislation numbered 6, dated August 14th, 2007, decided by the Rize University Senate, Computer Technology and Programming program was launched within the Department of Technical Programs ; Tourism and Hotel Management within the Economics and Management programs and with the 10th Senate decision dated 31st January 2008 ,Accounting and Tax Applications program was launched. Banking and Insurance Program was launched within the Economics and Management programs with the 16 th Senate decision dated 04.07.2008. The name of the Rize university has changed into Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University with the Law No. 6287 published in Official Gazette in 11th April 2012. Banking and Insurance Program which accepts 60 students every year has a 100% occupancy rate and has 124 students as of 2012. The aim of the program is to train qualified and knowledgeable intermediate staff in theory and practice, which is needed by the Banking and Insurance sector which has a potential for rapid development in our country’s financial system.

The graduates who succeed in the lessons and in the program take an associate degree program diploma in the field of Banking and Insurance on the condition that they complete vocational internship/ training for 40 work days.

The registration and admission, and testing and evaluation procedures are regulated by higher Education law and by the decisions taken by the higher education committee in line with this law and by the regulations of the commitee

The general requirements explained in “General Admission Requirements” of Information on the Institution part are applied for admission of students.

To be successful in all of the lessons that are included in the program(totally 120 AKTS equivalent) and having minimum 2.00 GPA out of 4.00 GPA are enough for the competence.

Banking and Insurance Program conducts a suitable training plan for training intermediate staff on the theory and practice in the field of Banking and Insurance. The program not only includes lessons of economics, statistics , finance, management , mathematics , law ;but also compulsory and optional courses, addressing the fields of expertise banking and insurance sector in which are needed.

The Employment Profiles of Alumni (With examples) Our Graduates; -can work in the field of banking and insurance within the private and public institutions. -can be employed in the branches of banks or general management and operation centers of banks. -can work in the agencies of liberal and bank branches which are the chain of distribution of Insurance companies. -can meet the needs of intermediate staff in the the central departments of insurers' and reinsurers' companies. -can be employed in the individual retirement companies which have been included in teh insurance sector with the recent regulations . -can gain the qualities of marketing the products and services of all banks and insurances, and master the basic principles and concepts of banking and insurance. -can offer consulting services about the basic products and services to the potential bank customers and to the policyholders. -know about the legislations of their job and know about the quality control and standards.

The graduates are awarded a two-year degree ( Associate degree program) banking and insurance diploma. The alumni graduated from banking and insurance program can transfer onto programs, such as Actuarial Science, Banking, Banking and Finance, Banking and Finance, Econometrics, Economics, , Economics and Finance, Economics, Business, Business Informatics, Business Administration - International Business, Logistics Management, Capital Markets, Insurance, Insurance and Risk Management, International Finance, International Business, International Trade, International Trade and Finance.

The examination , testing and evaluation are carried out in the light of the education and examination regulation of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan university about the associate degree and graduate degree published in the official gazette in 01.12.2011.

Our vocational college started training in 2008-2009 academic year with 6 Lecturers and with 108 students and still continues training in the 2011-2012 academic year with three instructor and 9 lecturers in total 12 lecturers and 464 students within the programs of Banking and Insurance, Computer Programming, Accounting and Taxation, Tourism and Hotel Management. Ardesen Vocational school stands on an an area of 51 161 m2 with 8 classrooms equipped with projections, 2 computer labs with the capacity of 30 students and an education building with a student cafeteria . Besides, there is a practice hotel, a library and an indoor sports hall on campus. Our college is in Ardesen and Ardesen is surrounded by Fındıklı in the east, Pazar in the west, Kackar mountains in the south and Black Sea in the north and the length of its coast is 10 km. There are hills and extensions of the Eastern Black Sea mountains. This country is 42,3 km away from Ayder plateau and people can do trekking and rafting on the Fırtına creek.
