Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Ardesen Vocational School Department of Computer Technologies started education in 2008 academic year the after the decision of the University Senate, dated 14 August 2007 and numbered 6. In the fall semester of 2010-2011 academic year, evening education started. The department currently has 80 students by 2012. Each of the programmes has 30 students’ quota and 60 students in total.

Needs of industry, professional knowledge and skill level is high, easy to adapt to technological developments and quality of working life and humanity, useful, depending on the national and moral values, respect, and to train a computer programmer and computer technician.

The students who graduate from this programme can work in the fields of database management, web design, programming, 2B/3B designer and internet programming. The students can also work in the departments of the firms considering web design and programming, database transactions as intermediate staff, or as designers and animators in advertising agency and firms, and as programmers in some of sectors of the software firms. Additionally, the students can work as graph designers in photograph studios or can begin a business on their own in their field. Similarly, they can work as service and maintenance staff in computer firms. Furthermore, as they are well qualified in Office programmes, they can easily work as computer operators in related sectors. The students graduate from the Computer Programming department can work as government officers in public institutions through the placement nationwide public officers competitive examination (KPPS). Especially, they can work as staff or intermediate staff in data entries in municipalities, Office operations, infrastructure and technical support, web information technology departments.

Here students graduated with a computer associated with DGS exams, may transfer to degree programs.

Courses are term based. 40 percent of the midterm grade and 60 percent of the final exam grade add up to the overall passing grade. The assessment of the courses are executed according to Recep Tayyip Erdogan University “exam regulation of associate and undergraduate education”

They are registered in the curriculum, courses, applications, as well as all the requirements of 40 days internship work, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, Associate Degree and Language Education and Examination Regulations?? successfully complete and in accordance with the General Weighted GPA (GPA) must be at least 2.00.

The school has two computer laboratories which are mainly employed by computer department students. Each of the laboratories consists of 30 modern equipments. In week and at the weekends, two laboratories are open to all students for study. There are also two classrooms for theoretical lessons and there is one electrical laboratory which is used in related lessons.
