General Description

Ardeşen vocational school has been training for an associate degree program with the department of Tourism and Hotel Management since 2008-2009 academic year. The Department gave its first graduates in 2008-2009 academic year. One can reach the Kaçkar mountains national park from Ardeşen. Fırtına creek, one of the most important rivers for Turkish rafting sport, that reaches to the sea in the center of the country. With the spectacular seascape and with its practice hotel, the department gives approximately 40 graduates each year.

Qualification Awarded

The graduates who succeed in the lessons, take the associate degree program diploma in the field of Hospitality Management .

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

In Turkish Higher Education Institutions the recognition of previous formal education graduate, undergraduate and the transitions within the university is carried out within the scope of determined by The Council of Higher Education "In Higher Education Institutions the transition between undergraduate and graduate level programs, double major, minor and transfer of credit within inter-institutional with regard to basis of regulation" .Exams of exemption are organized at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language and Computer Skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Students must obtain a grade average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the program (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS).

Profile of The Programme

All high school graduates mainly the graduates of Tourism and Hotel Vocational High School graduates are trained here through their personal preferences.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Graduates can find positions in private sector institutions such as ; at travel agents, hotel, motel, holiday villages or at central and provincial organizations of Ministry of Culture and Tourism .

Access to Further Studies

The students who succeeded in the associate degree program are eligible to apply to graduate degree programs of their own field or related fields . Besides, they are eligible to pass without taking any exam to the third class of open education programs (related programs) of Anadolu University.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Students take one mid-term exam and one final exam for each course. To get a passing grade in the course ,the student's total score will be the sum of 40% of mid-term exam grade and 60% of final exam grade.
