General Description
History

The Electric and Electronics Engineering, where 25 students is accepted every year by the decision of the Higher Education Board Meeting at the date of 09/04/2015, is one of the departments of Engineering Faculty of Recep Tayyip Erdogan University. The department provides contemporary education of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with four years education period. As of 2015, there are 26 students in the department, and education is carried on by the 3 assistant professors, 2 lecturers and 1 research assistant.

Qualification Awarded

Upon successful completion of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, students will be awarded with a bachelor's degree in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle)

Specific Admission Requirements

The students who want to enroll on the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering should have a high school diploma and adequate score from the Higher Education Examination-Undergraduate Placement Examination.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

The Higher Education Board of Turkey has determined the internal, horizontal and vertical transfer in universities based on the "REGULATIONS OF TRANSFER BETWEEN THE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AND ASSOCIATED UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR AND CREDIT TRANSFER ACTION ". In Turkey, besides the formal education institutions, recognition of non-formal certificate dependent or experience-based ( in- formal and non-formal) learning is in its early stages. Therefore, recognition of prior learning has not been started in all programs of the Recep Tayyip Erdogan University.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Successfully completing all the courses, which are available in the program (240 ECTS credits) and to have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 is the required condition for graduation

Profile of The Programme

Electrical and Electronics Engineering education programs designed to prepare students for electrical and electronic engineering profession as well as providing them experience for the practical and theoretical research after graduation. The first four semesters are common to all undergraduate students, beginning in the fifth semester students will begin selecting the appropriate specialization courses and be able to develop themselves in this field.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Even though, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Program has not yet graduated any student, the alumni will be able to work at electrical, electronics and communications sectors, national and multinational companies, radio and the TV broadcasters, internet service related organizations and health sector in research and development, and in the production and marketing units. Also they can participate graduate studies at prestigious universities.

Access to Further Studies

Candidates after successful completion of their undergraduate education and with sufficient knowledge of English and ALES exam grade can study graduate program in their field or in graduate programs in related fields.

Facilities

The Laboratories which can be used by students; Circuit Analysis Lab, Electronic Lab, Digital Systems Lab, Signal Processing Lab, Electrical Machines Lab, Optical Lab, Wireless Communications and Remote Sensing Lab, Microprocessors Lab, Computer Lab. Students can benefit from the research and development opportunities offered by the department. These opportunities are given by advisor instructors and realized in the labs listed above with addition of Central Research Lab of the university.
