General Description
History

General Board of Higher Education decision letter No. 4744-9838 dated 11.24.1992 transferred to the Black Sea Technical University Rize Health School of Nursing and Midwifery sections. Department of Nursing, School of Health Sciences at the University of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was founded in 2006. There are not yet any midwifery students. Nursing education began in the academic year 2011-2012 with 75 students. The study period is four years, and the language of instruction is Turkish. However, during students training there are courses in English and Business English. 2 Assistant Professors, 3Lecturers with a total of 5 Nursing Instructors.

Qualification Awarded

The students who have successfully completed all of the program are given a Bachelor Degree in Nursing.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Turkish Higher Education Institutions previous formal (formal) recognition of learning vertical, horizontal, and the university is determined by the Board of Higher Education of transitions in the "Higher Education Institutions, Associate Degree and Bachelor's Degree Level Switching Between Programs, Double Major, Minor done with the Inter-Agency Transfer of Credit Regulations Concerning" the scope of realized. Recognition of prior learning is at the beginning stage in the Turkish Higher Education System. Recep Tayyip Erdogan University and hence the Department of Nursing is no exception to this. However, exams of exemption are organised at the start of each term at the University for courses compulsory in the curriculum, such as Foreign Languages and Basic Computing. The students who have completed the learning process for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum, and this grade is entered into the student's transcript.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Conditions for qualification in order to graduate is to successfully complete all compulsory courses of the programme with 240 ECTS credits To achieve a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Profile of The Programme

The Nursing program is one that deals with the person-family-community. It defines health requirement, risk factors, searchs the reason of health problems, plans appropriate nursing interventions (health care, education, counselling etc.), implements these interventions and finally assesses the result of interventions. This program offers nursing caretraining within all areas related to prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, and is designed to provide the fundamentals of contemporary nursing. The first year courses, students are brought up to the same levels of knowledge in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology and parasitology courses in the basic science, and provides the basic concepts in nursing. Second, third, and fourth years of Internal Medicine Nursing offered, Surgical Nursing, Women's Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and Public Health Nursing provides practical courses, such as clinical and fieldwork. From the third semester students may specialize in Diabetes Nursing, Intensive Care Nursing, Home Health Care Nursing, Nursing Leadership, Reproductive Health Nursing, Health Policy and elective courses such as Academic Writing Skills are available. Through these courses for nursing students are offered a broad perspective. In the Eighth semester, 32 hours a week to carry out research and a thesis submitted.

This program is in line with modern approaches to assess the country's health care needs of researchers, educators, practitioners, managers and leaders is to become trained nurses. In this context nurses may work as, Nursing Office, Supervisor of Nursing, Rehabilitation and Special Care Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Occupational Health Nursing, Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation Nursing, Neurosurgery, Nursing, Oncology Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Occupational Health Nursing, Urology Nursing, Wound -ostomy-Incontinence Nursing, Intensive Care Nursing, Forensic Nursing, Dialysis Nursing, Emergency Care Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Labor and Women's Health Nursing, Education, Infection Control Nursing, Home Health Care Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Nursing Service , Apheresis Nursing, Quality (ISO) Nursing, Sterilization Nursing, Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing, Pharmaceutical Firms in many areas.

Access to Further Studies

Upon successful completion of undergraduate degree candidates must acheive the requiredf ALES score and a foreign language knowledge (UDS and equivalent examinations) or a related field to onto pos graduate programs on condition that they are eligible to study in their respective fields.

Facilities

Professional Skills laboratory, adult model, IV and IM injection models of practice, pediatric model, blood pressure measurement model, CPR model of cardio-respiratory massage walkable, delivery model, Epizyo model, a model of pelvic examination is a lot like the model. In addition, our school 1 Anatomy Laboratory, 1 Laboratory of Microbiology, 1 Biochemistry Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, including internet use, computer. Seminar rooms and a conference hall with a capacity of 100 people. In addition, our school has 15 classrooms, there are a total of 7 classroom computer and projector with conference room available, 1 meeting rooms. 1 canteen (television, cold and hot beverages, transportation), table tennis, with a low fee in the school refectory offering a variety of foods.
